Maine State Police Log: Driver charged following crash

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police charged a motorist who allegedly left the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Route 1 in Hancock Dec. 8.

Trooper Chris Smith summoned Joy Brailee, 19, of Gouldsboro on a charge of possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

Smith said Brailee had briefly returned to the scene before obtaining a ride to the hospital.

Brailee was operating a 2006 Pontiac Vibe, which suffered extensive front-end damage, police said.

The other vehicle involved was a 2011 Dodge Journey operated by Peter Sullivan, 42, of Sullivan, Smith said.

Smith is investigating thefts in Cherryfield and Steuben. There is no word on what is missing.
