Land use redux anew

BAR HARBOR — A comprehensive reorganization of the land use ordinance is again on track for a town meeting vote, this time in June 2015.

Town attorneys are now working on the project with attorney Bill Dale, who represents Dennis Bracale and other citizens who found telling errors in the last draft of the rewrite, causing town officials to pull it from the November ballot.

Also being worked on with Mr. Dale are revisions to the Appendix C table of uses, which Mr. Bracale and others discovered had never been properly revised after a 2010 court ruling ordering the town to do so.

Under the current plan, the planning board is to hold workshops on the ordinance in November, followed by a public hearing Dec. 3, with the final proposal coming before town councilors in January 2015.
