A ceremony was held at the Samoset Hotel in Rockland last weekend. In his speech, Krichels thanked all the organizations in Hancock County that have been responsive and open to working with KidsPeace students.

The KidsGiveBack program connects youths from KidsPeace, a national nonprofit treatment center specializing in children going through severe mental or emotional crisis, with community outreach projects. The following organizations have participated in the program: the Woodlawn Museum, Blagden Wildlife Preserve, HOME Co-op, Ellsworth Public Library, Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery and the Eastern Area Agency on Aging.

Krichels had special thanks for Cheri Domina and Jake Maier of the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust in Orland, where KidsPeace students participate in a forestry program.
