Two incumbents, two newcomers win in Bucksport

BUCKSPORT — Town Council candidates David Kee and Paul Gauvin — both incumbents — and newcomer Paul Rabs prevailed in Tuesday’s election to fill three three-year seats on the board.

They outpolled Clayton Burgess, Bruce Clement, James Morrison, Michael Ormsby and Stephen St. Peter.

In the race for the one-year council seat, Robert Carmichael defeated Julie Hersom and Valorie Shaffner.

The election comes at a transitional moment for Bucksport, which saw the closure of a paper mill last winter and will face important budgeting decisions this year.

Scott Frazier also won an uncontested race for a three-year term on the board of Regional School Unit 25.
