Hospitals launch Business Partners Program

ELLSWORTH — Northern Light Blue Hill and Maine Coast hospitals have announced the Hancock County Business Partners Program, a new program to celebrate businesses that support the hospitals’ nonprofit health-care mission. Business partners will enjoy several benefits, including community recognition and an opportunity to engage with hospital leadership on local health-care issues.

Businesses that donate $250 or more annually are recognized at one of four levels.

“The business community has always been a strong partner in helping us provide the skilled, compassionate care that families in Hancock County have relied on for generations,” says John Ronan, president of Blue Hill and Maine Coast hospitals. “The Business Partners Program recognizes local businesses that support us in carrying on that tradition today.”

Business partners will be recognized on the Blue Hill and Maine Coast hospitals’ websites, in the hospital lobbies, in newsletters, on social media and in other ways. They will also be invited to an annual business breakfast with hospital leadership and receive a decal to display in their business.

“Business Roundtable members are true partners in helping us enhance access to care, maintain a strong health-care workforce and take on some of our region’s largest community health challenges,” adds Ronan. “We’re grateful for the business community’s generous support.”

Nearly 100 businesses qualified to be a part of the Business Partners Program in 2020, including Machias Savings Bank.

“Since 1986, thirty-four years running, Machias Savings Bank has been a committed community partner of Northern Light Health,” says Larry Barker, bank president and CEO. “Financially of course, but also a partner in time, with hundreds of hours of volunteer work by our employees. We are honored to both serve and support you and are keenly aware that your efforts have never been more important than they are today. Together we will continue to move the communities of Maine forward.”
