Horse farm to hold open house May 7

LAMOINEStarlight Horse Farm in Lamoine will hold its fourth annual open house on Saturday, May 7, from noon-3 p.m. at the farm.

Owners Cynthia and Debra Andrews, a mother/daughter team, offer equestrian vaulting – gymnastic dance in harmony with a moving horse, riding lessons and horse boarding. Vaulting is one of the seven equine disciplines sanctioned by the FEI, USEF and CHA; it is practiced worldwide recreationally as well as competitively. A vaulting demonstration will be performed.

The funds raised through the open barn activities will help fund the team and the vaulting programs. Equine programs for youth, women and veterans are in development.

Entry to the event is free. There will also be kids’ crafts, goat cuddles and refreshments. Gift certificates, crafts, gifts and raffle tickets will be available for purchase.

Starlight Horse Farm is located at 397 Douglas Highway in Lamoine.
