Holy Week Services Announced In Ellsworth



The Church of Life and Praise will host a series of Passion Week services featuring a guest speaker, the Rev. Ronald Durham of Ron Durham Ministries in Savannah, Ga.

The services will begin with a Healing-Communion service on Good Friday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m.

Durham will be speaking on the subject: “The Power of the Cross.”

A ministry of laying on of hands for healing will be administered at this service.

On Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be an Easter egg hunt including the showing of the film “VeggieTales, An Easter Carol” for the children.

Special treats and prizes will be shared with each child attending.

At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, there will be an evening of praise and worship. Durham’s message will be: “The Goodness of God.”

Easter Sunday, April 12, at 10 a.m. will be in celebration of the Resurrection. “The Power of Grace” will be ministered by Durham. This service will also include praise and worship, special music and interpretative dance.

The final service will convene on Monday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m.

The sermon subject will be “The Gift of no Condemnation.”

Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Church of Life and Praise is temporarily meeting at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, corner of High and Main streets.

All the Passion Week events will be at the Parish Hall.

Ellsworth United Methodist Church will hold a Palm Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. April 5.

A Good Friday service is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 10.

A walkway of silence along a labyrinth of donated nonperishable foods and paper items will be formed. Items will be donated to local charities.

The church’s Easter Sunday worship service is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 12.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will hold morning prayer at 8 on April 9, followed by Mass at 5:30 p.m. and adoration from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

There will also be morning prayer at 8 for Good Friday on April 10, followed by midday prayer at 12:15 p.m., Stations of the Cross at 3 and the Lord’s Passion Service at 5:30.

The Easter Vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. April 11 while Easter Sunday masses April 12 are scheduled for 8 and 11 a.m.

The First Congregational Church, UCC, will hold an Easter sunrise service (in front of the church) at 7 a.m. April 12, with breakfast to follow.

The Easter worship service is scheduled for 10 a.m.

St. Andrew Lutheran Church will hold its Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. April 9.

The Good Friday service is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 10.

An Easter Vigil service will be held at 5:30 a.m. April 12, followed by breakfast from 8:30 to 10.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion is scheduled for 10:30.

Easter Sunday services at the United Baptist Church April 12 are scheduled for 8 and 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The Maine Coast Baptist Church will hold an Easter breakfast at 8 a.m. April 12, followed by Sunday school at 9:30 and a worship service at 10:30.
