ELLSWORTH — An accident on July 22 at 8:30 p.m., between a sports utility vehicle and a motorcycle, ended with leg and hip injuries to the motorcycle driver, William DeVito, 29, of Pulaski, NY. He was taken to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital by ambulance. His passenger, Ashley Streeter, 34, of Pulaski, NY escaped any injury, as did the SUV’s driver,  Teague Smallidge, 17,  and his passenger, David Gadsby, 18, both from Blue Hill.

Smallidge was traveling north on High Street and failed to yield to DeVito as Smallidge turned left onto Foster Street, according to Ellsworth police. DeVito was traveling south on High Street when Smallidge turned a 2012 Subaru SUV, owned by Leslie Litwiller of Blue Hill, directly into DeVito’s path

A witness, Jarred Kelsey, of Steuben, told responding Corporal Robert Angelo, that he saw Smallidge turn in front of the motorcycle.

Both the SUV and the motorcycle were disabled in the crash and towed from the scene.
