ELLSWORTH — Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County is offering a fall training for those interested in becoming patient care volunteers.
The training will begin in October and conclude in early December, with dates and times for the training sessions to be scheduled around the availability of prospective volunteers.
Patient care volunteers provide non-medical support to individuals with life-limiting illness. Respite care is provided for caregivers of those living with these illnesses.
Volunteer training is extensive and provides education on end-of-life and bereavement issues, skills enhancement for serving individuals and families and personal development for readiness to serve.
