ELLSWORTH — Healthy Acadia is offering a 30-hour Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery Coach Academy, a training session for those interested in serving as peer-to-peer coaches for those seeking recovery from substance use.
The training will run from April 30 to May 3 at the Ramada Inn in Ellsworth. Classes will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Recovery Coach Academy, led by Healthy Acadia’s certified Recovery Coach trainers, Terri Woodruff and Denise Black, is a highly interactive four-day training. It uses curriculum developed by the Connecticut Center for Addiction Recovery that provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide and mentor others through their own recovery process.
The course fee is $100 per participant and priority is given to residents of Hancock and Washington counties.
For those who need financial assistance, full and partial scholarships are available.
