ELLSWORTH — Healthy Acadia, Health Equity Alliance, and the UMA Ellsworth Center Student Association will offer a free Naloxone overdose reversal training on Tuesday, March 5.
The training will run from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and will take place at the UMA Ellsworth Center, 248 State St., Suite 1 in Ellsworth.
Participants will learn how to identify and respond to an opioid overdose and how to administer the medication Naloxone, which temporarily reverses an opioid overdose.
Participants also will gain new tools and learn about community resources available to assist people in all stages of addiction and recovery. Free take-home Naloxone kits will be available to participants upon completion of the session.
This training is recommended for those who are likely to experience or witness an opioid overdose, including those who work or live with people at risk of overdosing.
