ELLSWORTH — Drs. Derek and Megan Pinkham of Life Source Family Chiropractic and Ruth Moore have announced the introduction of new wellness services coming to Ellsworth. Moore is a doctoral student majoring in psychoneuroimmunology (mind-body medicine) and recently completed a highly successful three-week practicum in clinical aromatherapy with the Pinkhams. This led to discussions about the expanded need for complementary and alternative health in the Downeast Maine area.
Over the next year, Moore will work under the mentorship of the Pinkhams as an independent student practitioner. She will provide drug-free options for health challenges, including clinical aromatherapy, specialized bodywork with acupressure and AromaTouch, QiGong and energy work, Native American herbology, guided imagery and meditation work and individualized health and wellness coaching for the Hancock and Washington County communities.
The field of complementary and alternative health is growing in Maine, with licensed practitioners in chiropractic health, Chinese herbalism and naturopathy. With the addition of mind-body medicine, people are empowered to develop a proactive approach in their personal health and wellness.
Moore will be seeing new and established patients at the Life Source Family Chiropractic Office at 24 Church St. in Ellsworth on Tuesday afternoons and all day on Wednesdays, starting on Feb. 5. Payments are expected at the time of service, however, some insurances may reimburse for services and others will defer to flex health accounts. Ruth will happily bill all insurances for patient reimbursement, if patients provide a copy of their insurance claim form. Prospective and established patients may call 619-4886 to schedule new patient or follow-up appointments.
