ELLSWORTH — Richard Parker, an 11-year cancer survivor, will present a meditation workshop series designed for cancer patients and survivors, both in and out of treatment, over four Fridays in March.
The series will consist of four 90-minute sessions, and will focus on many different styles of meditation. Participants will explore the plentiful gateways to meditation, including sound, motion, darkness, the sense of smell and more.
Individuals will be able to practice each type and decide which techniques they can draw from to build a regular, enjoyable and beneficial meditation practice for themselves.
Sessions will take place on Fridays, March 1, 8, 15 and 29, from 1:30-3 p.m., at Destination Health at 53 Main St. in Bar Harbor. The series is free and open to all.
