ELLSWORTH — Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County is offering a new training class for those interested in becoming hospice patient care volunteers.
The training will begin in late April and conclude in June, with dates and times for the training sessions to be scheduled around the availability of prospective volunteers.
Patient care volunteers provide non-medical support to individuals with life-limiting illness. Respite care is provided for caregivers of those living with these illnesses.
Volunteer training is comprehensive and provides education on end-of-life and bereavement issues, skills enhancement for serving individuals and families and personal development for readiness to serve.
