This grant will enable the clinic to be in compliance with state of Maine-mandated use of electronic ordering of prescriptions and to better assist in characterizing the patient population. The nonprofit Ellsworth Free Medical Clinic was founded 25 years ago to provide medical care at no cost for people in Hancock County and elsewhere in Maine who have no medical insurance. The clinic is supported entirely by donations and grants. The doctors and nurses working in the clinic are volunteers who receive no compensation.
