Harbor House wins grant

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Harbor House Community Service Center recently received a $1,000 grant from the Jobs for Maine Grads (JMG) Reach Program at Union 98 for junior high students. These funds will be used to support its Youth Center Underground. Funds for this grant were provided by the Unity Foundation.

The goal of the Unity Foundation is to teach the children participating in the JMG Reach Program about philanthropy and to let them experience the gift of giving. This grant represents a commitment from children islandwide to having and maintaining a place they can call their own.

This grant will allow Harbor House to make small repairs and continue to spruce up the Youth Center Underground facility.
