Hancock County Sheriff’s log week of June 23

ELLSWORTH — A Sedgwick woman called the Hancock County Regional Communications Center June 15 with concerns about a drone flying near her residence.

“After further investigation, it appears that this was part of a construction project being conducted near the residence,” said Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Morang.


An Ellsworth man was arrested at a Hancock residence June 18 after several deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute.

Deputy Brian Archer said Christopher Maxwell, 26, of Ellsworth was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault and violating conditions of his release. “I was assisted at the scene by Lt. Corey Bagley, Morang, Deputy Marcus Downes, Hancock Fire Department and Northern Light Medical Transport,” the deputy said.

Downes was called to the Hancock County Jail during the late evening hours June 17 to investigate a fight between two inmates. As a result, Downes summoned Trisha Murphy, 35, of Hancock on a charge of assault.


A Verona Island woman reported thefts of items from her vehicle and shed over the past several weeks, said Downes said. The woman reported the thefts June 18.

A man reported that his belongings had been taken out of his vehicle while it was parked at a Dedham business, Downes said. The report was made June 18.


A pickup truck went off the road and struck a tree after a motorist fell asleep on Sunshine Road in Deer Isle June 16, Archer said.

Trey Plummer, 22, of Stonington was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, which he was able to drive from the scene, Archer said.

A car went off the road, traveled across a lawn at a private residence and struck a utility pole and a tree before coming to rest on Mines Road in Blue Hill June 17, Archer said.

Michael Jenkins, 36, of Deer Isle was operating southbound in a 2011 Ford Fusion, which was a total loss, Archer said. Jenkins was taken to a local hospital via ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

“I was assisted on scene by Deputy Dylan Hall, Blue Hill Fire Department, Versant Power Company, Peninsula Ambulance and Snow’s Towing,” the deputy said.


Richard Davies, 27, of Ellsworth was summoned on a charge of operating after suspension June 17 in Ellsworth, Downes said.
