ELLSWORTH — Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff McFarland responded to a Surry residence late Monday afternoon after a woman reported that she’d had an altercation with her mother. Ultimately, the woman packed her belongings and she and her son left her mother’s home.
“Neither of them were interested in pursuing assault charges,” McFarland said.
Police summoned an Ellsworth man after he allegedly parked in a handicapped parking spot at the Sorrento town dock Monday.
Jacob Poors, 19, of Ellsworth was summoned on a charge of “parking in physical disability parking,” Deputy Shane Campbell said.
Thieves stole a welder from a Hancock shed between July 7 and 9. Deputy Jake Day is investigating.
Deputy Eric McLaughlin is investigating a theft in Blue Hill that was reported Monday.
A wallet was taken from a vehicle parked in Orland Friday.
A woman reported Friday that two camp road name signs had been stolen from Orland.
Deputy Travis Frost assisted the Maine Department of Health and Human Services with removal of a child from a Deer Isle residence Friday.
Stonington Lobster Boat Races
Police took information about minors possibly consuming alcohol during the lobster boat races. Maine Marine Patrol officers checked the boat in question and confirmed that there was no underage drinking.
A woman notified deputies that she’d lost some items during the races. The information was documented for future reference.
Police summoned Lacretia Dieter, 19, of Ellsworth on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police summoned Jordan Messer, 29, of Bar Harbor on a charge of assault after an incident at the Hancock County Jail Friday.
A Deer Isle woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Toddy Pond Road in Surry July 9.
Deputy Jeff McFarland said the motorist, Amanda Robbins, 24, was driving east when she lost control of her car, which went off the road and struck a tree.
Robbins was driving a 1994 Chrysler LeBaron, which is a total loss, McFarland said.
Peninsula Ambulance took Robbins to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for possible head, neck and back injuries, the deputy said.
Charges are pending a blood test result, McFarland said.
A Lamoine man was charged after a July 7 crash on Raccoon Cove Road in Lamoine.
Lt. Chris Thornton summoned Wyatt Salisbury, 26, on charges of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and operating with an expired license.
The crash occurred when Salisbury’s Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck went off the road and struck several large stumps, which caused significant damage to the passenger side tire and front bumper, Thornton said.
Salisbury advised that he had been looking at his phone before going off the road, the officer said.
An Orland man was charged after he totaled a pickup truck on Upper Falls Road in Orland Saturday afternoon.
Deputies Rob Morang and McLaughlin arrested Jordan Henry, 19, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
Henry was driving a 1999 Ford pickup truck, which went off the road and struck a tree, Morang said.
