ELLSWORTH — Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies handled a crash that led to arrest for a motorist on Bay Road in Brooklin Monday evening.
Deputy Frank Jennings said a car went off the road and overturned after the motorist lost control just after the Bay Road’s intersection with High Street.
Jordan T. Lord, 21, of Blue Hill was operating a 2010 Mazda, which was totaled, Jennings said.
The deputy said Lord advised him he had been driving too fast.
Jennings arrested Lord on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and violating conditions of his release.
A sport utility vehicle went off the road and hit a utility pole and embankment after a motorist fell asleep while driving on Tourtelotte Ridge Road in Mariaville Friday, Deputy Brian Archer reported.
Michael Clifford, 42, of Fairview Park, Ohio, was operating a 2014 Ford Edge, which was totaled, Archer said.
A car went off the road, struck a cedar hedge and rolled onto its left side after an operator lost control of the car on a curve of Bald Mountain Road in Dedham Saturday, Deputy Jeff McFarland reported.
Nichole Eaton, 26, of Dedham was driving a Chevrolet Malibu, which sustained damage to its driver and passenger sides, McFarland said.
An SUV was damaged after hitting a tree that had fallen across the Mountain Road in Blue Hill Oct. 13, Archer reported.
Meredith Townsend, 37, of Blue Hill was driving a 2016 GMC Acadia, which sustained front-end damage, Archer said.
An SUV was totaled after it went off the road and struck a parked tow truck on Route 3 in Trenton Oct. 12 after a motorist suffered a medical issue, Dana Austin reported.
Wendy Watson, 69, of Fletchers Landing was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler, which sustained “severe” front-end damage, Austin said.
Watson was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the deputy said.
Theft
A Brooklin woman reported the theft of campaign signs Oct. 13.
Truancy
Deputy Rob Morang said a youth on Swan’s Island is having an issue with truancy. Morang is investigating the matter.
Vandalism
A Deer Isle resident called police Oct. 13 to report someone had been engaging in “drive-by paint-balling.” Deputy Eric McLaughlin checked the area but didn’t find any paint-balling.
Summonses
Police summoned Ellen Sedgwick, 36, of Surry on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in Surry Monday.
Austin summoned Matthew Burton, 28, of Fletchers Landing on a charge of operating after suspension Friday in Dedham.
Lt. Chris Thornton summoned David Griffin, 69, of Franklin on a charge of operating after suspension Friday in Hancock.
