Reckless driving reported on West Bay Road
GOULDSBORO — A report of reckless driving on the West Bay Road, where a triple fatal accident occurred earlier this year, and a car-deer accident topped last week’s Gouldsboro Police Department log of incidents around town.
On Tuesday, April 20, Herman Anderson of Corea was driving on Route 194 (Corea Road) when his 2021 Subaru Crosstrek struck a deer. Anderson was uninjured. His vehicle was functional and could be driven away from the scene, according to Police Chief John Shively, who took the late accident report.
On Thursday, April 22, the chief took a complaint of reckless driving on the West Bay Road. No further details were provided.
At 7 p.m. on April 22, Officer Adam Brackett assisted Maine State Police with a domestic incident in Hancock. Earlier that same day, he assisted Schoodic EMS with a patient lift in Birch Harbor.
Last week, Shively responded to one fire alarm and two burglary alarms, ranging from East Schoodic Drive to the Corea and Ives Landing roads, and found all the properties to be secure. He also checked the former U.S. naval complex in Corea. Officer Brackett also conducted property checks on the Pond Road.
