Orland Fire Department Capt. John Gray and firefighter Paul Rabb talk with a motorist at the scene of a fuel spill on Front Ridge Road. The road is coated with a drying chemical.
ORLAND — Front Ridge Road was closed for over an hour Tuesday while firefighters cleaned up fuel spilled from a damaged Sullivan Tire truck.
The truck’s driver reported hitting one of “countless” frost heaves at the time of the incident, according to a press release from the Orland Fire Department. A piece of the truck broke off and hit the gas tank.
The Fire Department responded for traffic control and clean-up. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection was notified of the fuel spill.
Traffic was rerouted to Back Ridge Road during the road closure.
