Flamingo Fest kicks off Friday July 11, 2018 on News SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Quietside Flamingo Festival kicks off Friday and continues through the weekend. First on the lineup is the American Legion lobster back at 5 .m. Friday. The cost is $20 per person. Saturday’s schedule includes a pancake breakfast from 7 to 8:30 a.m. followed by the parade at 9:30. Kids carnival games will be from 10 a.m. to noon and a bounce house, T-ball air game and giant water slide will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Coast Guard Station on Clark Point Road will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. A sip n’ swirl canvas painting class a sign-making workshop will be at 1 p.m. under the tent. Sunday kicks off with the Flaming 4-Miler. Registration starts at 7 a.m. at the Tremont School and runners will leave for the Seawall Picnic Area at 8 a.m. The race starts at 8:30. The Polo & Yacht Club cocktail party at the Causeway Club Barn from 5 to 7 p.m. will feature music by The Trish Mason Band. Tickets are $35 and reservations are recommended. On Monday, July 16, Flash in the Pans! Steel drum band will perform at an evening concert and dance party at 7:30 p.m.
