BAR HARBOR — Town councilors Tuesday followed the direction of the backyard parking garage working group and supported the firm of Bermello Ajamil and Partners as the most qualified to prepare a feasibility study for a facility.
The firm prepared the cruise ship study that helped the town set new port and passenger fees, and more recently the study recommending a cruise terminal at the idle international ferry terminal. It is known for its cruise ship and maritime consulting but works in many other areas including with parking garages, council chairman Ruth Eveland said.
The firm was chosen after a request for qualifications process. Financial figures related to the study have not been determined. The cost of the study will be split between hotel company Ocean Properties and the town.
