DEDHAM — The purchase of a fire truck and approving expenditures for repairs to the Green Lake Road bridge are two of the five articles appearing on the warrant for the town’s Aug. 1 special town meeting.
The selectmen approved the warrant July 18 after discussing the truck purchase’s financial details with Dedham-Lucerne Fire Chief Craig Shane.
The town of Dedham and the village of Lucerne plan on purchasing a $420,000 Spartan ERV Pumper. Both communities plan on using $50,000 from each fire department’s reserve account as a down payment and finance the rest.
Article Three on the Dedham town meeting warrant asks voters to approve up to $370,000 less such amount contributed by the Lucerne-in-Maine Village Corp. to purchase a fire truck.
Article Four asks residents to utilize $50,000 from the Fire Department Reserve Account as a down payment.
Lucerne Village will hold a special town meeting Aug. 10 to consider using $50,000 from its Fire Department Reserve Account and pay half of the remaining balance.
The special town meeting takes place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, in the town office’s upstairs meeting room.
