Ellsworth Police Log Week of Oct. 1



ELLSWORTH — A 31-year-old man was arrested on Sept. 24 after reportedly driving more than 50 miles per hour over the posted speed limit, according to a police report. Jacob Bowden of Bucksport was arrested and charged with operating over the speed limit by more than 30 mph and failure to stop for a law enforcement officer. Police wrote in a report that Bowden was driving 76 mph in a 25-mph zone.

Threatening charge

A 25-year-old Ellsworth man was charged with criminal threatening on Sept. 28 after officers were called to a residence behind the Hampton Inn for a report of a domestic incident. Harvey Springer was charged with criminal threatening (domestic violence). A court date was set for Nov. 17.

Mask, sign and noise complaints

Police received a complaint about a customer not wearing a mask inside a business on Sept. 27.

Police took a report on the defacement of a political sign on a local resident’s property on Sept. 25.

Officers were called to a local residence on Sept. 26 for a civil issue in which a pet had been injured. Both parties were warned not to return to the property of the pet owner.

A loud bang reported on Sept. 24 turned out to be a blown fuse on a power line, according to a report.

Officers took a report of a food being thrown on cars at a local hotel on Sept. 25.

Arrests

Two Seal Cove residents were arrested on Sept. 22 after police stopped the car they were riding in for “erratic operation,” according to a report. Samantha Willard, 33, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and the passenger in the car, Gregory Harper, 36, of Seal Cove, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing government administration and attempted criminal mischief.

Seth Clewley, 30, of Ellsworth was arrested on Sept. 24 on charges of operating after suspension, violation of bail and refusing to submit to arrest or detention after police stopped Clewley while he was driving.

Bradley Lecomte, 32, of Blue Hill turned himself in on Sept. 24 on a warrant for failure to appear.

Summonses

Brianna L. Alley, 30, of Surry was summoned on Sept. 23 on a charge of operating with a license expired for more than 90 days.

Nicole Hussey, 41, of Ellsworth was summoned on Sept. 18 on charges of illegally attaching registration plates and violating conditions of release.

Larry Astbury, 67, of Surry was charged with OUI on Sept. 27 after police received a call about a possibly intoxicated driver.

Ronald Pinkham, 41, of Ellsworth was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle on Sept. 26.

Nicole Sargent, 34, of Sullivan was charged on Sept. 24 with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and violating conditions of release.

Thefts and other losses

Amanda Burrows, 35, of Bar Harbor was arrested on a theft charge on Sept. 28 after reportedly taking $50 worth of goods from Walmart.

Traffic violations

Alexander A. Guptill, 25, failure to provide valid proof of insurance following a traffic stop on Route 3 on Sept. 23.

Leah Stevens, 32, of Ellsworth, operating after suspension following a traffic stop on Foster Street on Sept. 24.

Buddy Bradstreet, 30, of Belfast, speeding 34 mph in a 25-mph zone on the Bucksport Road on Sept. 24.

James Crockett, 45, of Ellsworth, failure to provide valid proof of insurance following a traffic stop on the Christian Ridge Road on Sept. 23.

Lisa Haas, 53, of Penobscot, failure to provide valid proof of insurance following a traffic stop on the Bucksport Road on Sept. 24.

Jared Deans, 20, of Winterport, speeding 34 mph in a 25-mph zone on the Bucksport Road on Sept. 24.

Mack Webber, 22, of Belfast, speeding 34 mph in a 25-mph zone on the Bucksport Road on Sept. 24.

Eli Brown, 19, of Surry, failure to provide valid proof of insurance following a traffic stop on Route 1 on Sept. 23.

Linda Coburn, 71, of Hermon, changing course of travel when unsafe on the Bangor Road on Sept. 21.
