LAMOINE — The Regional School Unit 24 board April 14 approved an extension of Val Perkins’ contract as interim principal at the Lamoine Consolidated School for the 2009-2010 school year.
Perkins retired in June 2008 after 10 years as principal in Lamoine, but then was hired back to work three days a week for the current school year.
The position was reduced from full time to part time as a cost-cutting measure by the town.
Lamoine has 114 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
