Student notes July 21, 2018 on Education, News University of Maine at Augusta Provost Joseph Szakas has announced the 2018 spring semester dean’s list. To qualify for the full-time dean’s list, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of 100-level or higher UMA coursework (exclusive of pass/fail courses) and maintain a semester grade point average in these courses of 3.25 or higher, with no grade below C-minus. Several area students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at the University of Maine at Farmington. Dean’s list students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in courses producing quality points. Students whose grade point average for the semester is equal to or greater than 3.8 are listed with high academic achievement. Students whose grade point average for the semester is less than 3.8 but equal to or greater than 3.5 are listed with academic achievement. The following area students were named to the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H., for the spring 2018 semester: Delaney Davis, Holden, with highest honors; Sara Willis of Lamoine, with highest honors; Sarah Shelton of Ellsworth, with highest honors; Abby Andrews of Brooksville, with highest honors; Emma Watras of Seal Cove, with high honors; Jessica Joyce of Stonington, with highest honors. Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors. Lakota Bowen of Blue Hill was named to the dean’s list of distinguished students for the 2018 spring term at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale). Brittany Corson of Trenton was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. Corson is a sophomore majoring in liberal studies/education and is the daughter of Steven Corson and Amanda Corson.
