Maine Maritime Academy recently announced its dean’s list for the second semester of the 2017-2018 academic year.
Students named to the dean’s list earned a grade point average of 3.3 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Nathaniel X. Boechat of Brooklin has been awarded a St. Lawrence University Fellowship for a summer 2018 research project.
Boechat is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in biology. Boechat attended George Stevens Academy.
Boechat will be conducting research titled “Developing an In-House ELISA Kit for the Measurement of Stress Hormones in Human Saliva.”
The St. Lawrence University Fellows program promotes close student-faculty collaboration and enables students to begin their academic research, laying the foundation for integrative, credit-bearing activity during the next academic year.
The Hancock County Retired Teachers Association has announced that Haley Littlefield, a junior at Thomas College in Waterville, is the recipient of the group’s $1,000 scholarship for the 2018-2019 school year.
Littlefield is a resident of Northeast Harbor, and is aspiring to a career in early child education.
Mary Davis of Bucksport and Karen Mushrall of Mariaville were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass.
Davis, a member of the Class of 2019, is majoring in biomedical engineering. Mushrall, also a member of the Class of 2019, is majoring in mechanical engineering.
Zachary Galeaz of Lamoine was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Northeastern University in Boston.
Galeaz is majoring in computer engineering/computer science.
Elizabeth MacDonald of Mount Desert has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt.
MacDonald is majoring in business administration in the Grossman School of Business.
Sean Keenan of Gouldsboro has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. Keenan is majoring in legal studies.
Michael Giard of Orland was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at the University of New England, which has campuses in Biddeford and Portland.
