School to Fete Retirees

BAR HARBOR — Three teachers with a combined 70 years of experience at the Conners-Emerson School will step down at the end of this year.

English teachers Trisha Rhodes and Linda Reynolds and long-time kindergarten teacher Ellen Robinson will be honored at an open house in the school cafeteria on Monday, June 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. School nurse Dottie Robins also is retiring and will be honored at the open house.

“I think all of them have kept their energy level and enthusiasm for the craft of teaching very high,” school principal Barbara Neilly said. “As some people say, they’re going out at the top of their game.”

Community members, parents, students past and present and school staff are all invited to the open house on Monday. Light refreshments will be served.
