Jonesport-Beals High School announces honor parts

JONESPORT — The faculty and administration of Jonesport-Beals High School have announced the class honor parts for the 2018-19 school year.

The valedictorian is Stephen Cirone, son of Barbie and Stephen Cirone of Jonesport.

A member of the National Honor Society, Cirone served as the class president and represented the school at the Maine Youth Leadership Conference and Dirigo Boys State. He was also selected for the Daughters of the American Revolution, Hannah Weston Chapter, Good Citizen Award. He is a member of both the basketball and baseball teams and has mentored elementary students. He plans to study business in the University of Maine at Orono Honors College.

The salutatorian is Judson Carver V, son of Heather Backman and Judson Carver IV of Jonesport.

Carver has served as a class officer for four years. A member of the golf team, he was a named a DAC all-star and played at the state golf match for the past two years. He also played soccer, basketball and baseball, serving as team captain in all sports. He also has been involved in drama productions and the mentoring program. He plans to fish this fall and then enlist in the United States Coast Guard.

The class history will be given by Evan Merchant, son of Andrea and Adam Merchant of Beals.

The class prophecy will be given by Mitch White, son of the Tamie and Mitchell White of Beals.

The class will will be given by Reed Willette, son of Robin Randall and Adam Willette of Jonesport.

The class gifts will be given by Alexis Merchant, daughter of Stacey Trunk and Wilton Merchant Sr. of Jonesport, and Tyler Childers, son of Maria Childers of Jonesport and Robert Childers of Gouldsboro.
