Interim assistant headmaster named to permanent job at GSA

George Stevens Academy’s interim assistant headmaster, Harold “Buzz” Moore, has been tapped to fill the permanent position.

BLUE HILL — Buzz Moore, who has been serving as interim assistant headmaster at George Stevens Academy, has been named to the permanent position.

Moore replaces Jane O’Connor, who left last year.

Both Moore’s mother and father taught in Brooklin. His father was principal of Sumner Memorial High School for a while. His mother taught business at Ellsworth High School.

Moore has about 15 years of teaching experience.

Moore was a substitute teacher and coached softball at EHS for four years. He also worked at Lamoine Consolidated School and at Lee Academy. Moore also taught in Jackman.
