I Learned It At The Grand

The Grand in downtown Ellsworth is expanding its educational offerings to include a new series of performing arts workshops for teens and adults.


All classes will be held at The Grand on Saturdays, starting Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with limited registration.

Prices are $30 per workshop for adults, $15 for students. The schedule:

Shakespeare Scene Study Workshops (limited to 20 students)

Instructor: Ben Layman (director of The Grand Summer Theatre Camp)

Saturday, Jan. 2, teen session, $15

Jan. 23, adult session, $30

Mask Making (limited to 12 students)

Instructors: Geoff Neal and Dhyana Bisberg

Two sessions: Jan. 30 and Feb. 13

For kids (7 and up) and adults, $15 per person

Vocalization for Teens and Adults (limited to 25 students)

Instructor: Zoe Alexis Scott (Director of The Grand)

Saturday, Feb. 27, adults $30, students $15

Stage combat for teens and adults (limited to 20 students)

Instructor: Arthur Morison (Ten Bucks Theatre actor)

Saturday, March 6, adult $30, Students $15

The audition for teens and adults (limited to 25 students)

Instructor: Zoe Alexis Scott (Director of The Grand)

Saturday, March 13, adults $30, students $15

Acting and film making for teens and adults (limited to 10 students)

Instructor: Tony Cox (filmmaker).

Two sessions to complete this workshop:

April 3 and April 24, adults $30, students $15
