ELLSWORTH — Hancock County Technical Center students came home with 14 medals after attending a statewide skills and leadership competition in Bangor March 12 and 13.
Thirty-seven students attended the SkillsUSA Leadership and Championship Convention. Awards for each medalist ranged from $2,000 to $5,000. There were 600 competitors overall.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. For more information, go to www.skillsmaine.org or www.skillsusa.org.
