Green, Dube nominated as Sumner principal, assistant principal

SULLIVAN — The Regional School Unit 24 (RSU 24) Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve Jackson Green and Rick Dube as principal and assistant principal, respectively, for Sumner Memorial High School at the board’s June 15 meeting.

RSU 24 Superintendent Michael Eastman made the nominations.

Green has been the principal at the Ella Lewis School in Steuben since 2019. Eastman said Green came highly recommended for his “passion, excitement and enthusiasm.”

Dube has been the athletic director at Sumner since 2018 and spent 10 years as the health and physical education teacher at Sumner.

Eastman said Green and Dube “complement each other very well.”

The nominations come after Principal Ty Thurlow and Assistant Principal Jayme Jones both issued their resignations last month.
