EHS senior receives Maine Principal’s Award

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth High School (EHS) senior Sam Pelletier has received the 2019 Principal’s Award.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Sam is very deserving of this award; he is a terrific young man, is a natural leader, and has challenged himself academically throughout his high school career to prepare for Middlebury College. He will be successful in whatever he chooses to do,” said EHS Principal Dan Clifford.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the Maine Principals’ Association, which represents Maine’s school administrators.

Pelletier will be honored along with other winners at an honors luncheon on April 6, where individual plaques along with 10 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Half of the scholarships are in the name of former principals and executive directors of the association Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler. The other half are presented on behalf of the Maine Principals’ Association Scholarship Golf Tournament.
