City Council greenlights HCTC study

ELLSWORTH — A feasibility study for the Hancock County Technical Center to determine whether a renovation or a complete rebuild is needed was unanimously approved by councilors on Oct. 20. Oakpoint Associates will carry out the study, councilors said, following the School Board’s formal recommendation on Oct. 13.

City officials had formed a committee to look at the future of the 40-year-old building in April 2019, and in May 2019 approved spending up to $150,000 for a feasibility study. However, the process was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, councilors said.
