BAR HARBOR — Ian Braun, a social studies teacher at Mount Desert Island High School, has been named interim assistant principal for grades 9 and 10.
He succeeds Pam Bush, who last month was appointed principal at Tremont Consolidated School.
In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Braun is one of the high school’s two affirmative action officers, an assistant football coach and co-chairman of the school’s reaccreditation steering committee. He also has been working two days a week as the MDI Regional School System’s assessment coordinator.
That job entails maintaining a technology system that provides teachers and principals with the data needed to assess student achievement and plan curricula.
