Eastbrook News of Neighbors

April is finally among us and so are the Angels, Operation PJ Angels that is. Jennifer Dunn has been quite successful in her mission to instill “A lil’ hug and a lot of hope” for children who are misplaced from their families and homes. She has dropped off more than 70 pairs of pajamas and 45 Bibles at the DHHS thanks to the donations of others.

She is now collecting spring pajamas to donate for the children (infant through teen) and hoping for more Bible donations as well. The deadline for this season’s collection will be the end of May and drop off locations are at Friendly’s Restaurant in Ellsworth, Kathy’s Breakfast and Chowder House in Trenton and Eastbrook Baptist Church. If you would like to offer any help to this great mission, please contact Jenn at 565-3312. She can also be reached by e-mail at [email protected]

The Community School Organization, CSO, a nonprofit group formed by parents and relatives of children at Cave Hill School, has announced the date for the first free family movie night. Grab your pen and mark the calendar, as you don’t want to miss this great opportunity to spend some quality time with your kids at this event. On Saturday, April 18, at 6 p.m. they will be showing the newly released movie “Bolt” in the Cave Hill School gymnasium. There will also be free popcorn and punch for all to enjoy. If you would like to volunteer your time to help at this affair, please contact the school at 565-3638 and leave your name and phone number and a member of the CSO will contact you with details. They will also be collecting bottle and can donations prior to the movie as well. Bake sale goodies will be available before and during the movie too. If you would like to become a member of the CSO, feel free to attend the group’s next meeting on April 9 at 3 p.m. at Cave Hill School.

Get well prayers and wishes are being sent out to Suzanne Martin. She has been struggling to overcome illness recently and her smile has been missed around town. I hope to see you feeling better soon. I would also like to congratulate Emily Dickens and her husband on the birth of their new baby daughter. Spring is a great time to honor new beginnings and new life. Enjoy this precious gift and your little miracle. Happy Birthday wishes go out to Mrs. Gatcomb, Cave Hill School’s fourth and fifth grade teacher, who will be celebrating on April 7. Enjoy your special day.
