Don Juan Driver Damages Ballfield

ELLSWORTH — A young Hancock motorist who was distracted while kissing his 17-year-old passenger caused about $800 in damage to an Ellsworth High School ballfield when his truck went down an embankment and got stuck in mud.

The motorist had been driving a pickup truck, which was not damaged.

Police warned him not to return to the school.

A Central Street resident contacted police around 1 a.m. Friday after noticing a brown car traveling slowly up and down his street.

A dispatcher said the man advised he reads The Ellsworth American and is concerned about motor vehicle burglaries.
