ELLSWORTH — Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies charged several young people after investigating a report of underage drinking at an island off Castine Sunday.
Deputy Jake Day charged the following with illegal possession of liquor by a minor:
Olivia Bicks, 19, of Westport, Conn.
Molly Salter, 20, of Alexandria, Va.
Madison Koos, 19, of Castine
Connor Kennedy, 20, of Sarasota, Fla.
Jasper Adam, 20, of Castine
Cassie Iegg, 18, of Dallas, Texas
Frederick Pierce, 19, of Newton, Mass.
Deputy Ben Astbury, Lt. Chris Thornton and Maine Marine Patrol Officer Owen Reed assisted.
A car went off the road and hit a utility pole on Route 1 in Hancock Tuesday morning.
Sierra Tinker, 18, of Ellsworth was driving a 1996 Subaru, Deputy Luke Gross reported. There was no word on damage to the car. Tinker complained of neck and back pain.
A boat that had been moored off Swan’s Island was tampered with last weekend.
“Several items were missing from the boat, and it is believed that the items were thrown overboard,” Deputy Rob Morang said. “The case is under investigation.”
Gross is investigating vandalism to several Waltham Road mailboxes. The incidents were reported Sunday.
An orange kayak is missing from a shed at a Toddy Pond camp in Orland.
A Trenton man reported a theft from his mailbox July 16.
An Orland woman’s mailbox was stolen July 23.
Police summoned David J. Smith, 46, of Stonington on a charge of assault July 23.
Astbury also warned Smith about criminal trespass.
McLaughlin summoned Michael Brown, 39, of Deer Isle on charges of violating conditions of his release and drug possession July 21.
Police summoned Garrett McElrath, 20, of Hampden on a charge of illegal possession of liquor by a minor July 23 on Point Road in Hancock.
Morang summoned Dakota Arnold, 20, of Swan’s Island, on charges of operating after suspension and failure to produce evidence of insurance.
Police summoned Michelle Bagley, 49, of Ellsworth on a charge of operating after suspension Friday.
Deputy Dana Austin summoned Benjamin Nowland, 26, of Sedgwick on a charge of operating after suspension Saturday.
John Marco Altibrandi, 24, of England was summoned on a charge of exceeding the speed limit by 30 miles per hour or more on July 22.
Deputy Jake Day went to Brandy Pond in Township 39 Monday for a complaint of people yelling. Day said after arrival that no one was found.
A call about a fight in progress in Penobscot Sunday led to arrest for a woman at the scene on a warrant.
Austin arrested Amanda Robbins, 24, of Surry on a warrant charging unpaid fines. The Maine State Police helped at the scene.
Day went to a Mariaville residence Sunday after taking a report of neighbors feuding over fireworks. Day warned both parties about harassment and civil trespass.
A Texas woman asked police to do a well-being check on her parents Sunday. The couple were found in good health.
On Friday, a Colorado woman asked police to check on the well-being of her daughter, who lives with her father in Blue Hill. The child was found to be well.
