Delayed opening of Park Loop Road creates boon for bicyclists

BAR HARBOR — Clear roads ahead for bicyclists taking a ride in Acadia National Park this spring.

The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce has announced that Bike In Acadia Month will be celebrated April 15 to May 17.

With the paved 27-mile Park Loop Road and over 55 miles of packed-gravel carriage trails wending through its forests, Acadia is a popular biking destination.

Nearby Bar Harbor will be open for business throughout the celebration.

The National Park Service has waived entry fees for Bike In Acadia Month. For more information, visit or
