Decks, sheds, sunrooms and storage issued city building permits

ELLSWORTH — City officials issued 15 building permits in April.

The numbers are down compared to the number of permits issued during the same month last year (21) but up compared to the nine approved in March.

Topping the April list were plans by Bomarc Self Storage to build several storage facility units on the Bangor Road at an estimated cost of $1.3 million.

City officials also issued permits to Brett Johnston for a 1,728-square-foot home on Branch Pond Road with a deck and garage, estimated to cost $200,000.

As is the season, several residents are building sheds, sunrooms and decks in anticipation of warmer weather.
