BAR HARBOR — The Maine Mycological Association March program on Saturday, March 14, will feature illustrated talks by members David Porter and Lynn Havsall in McCormick Hall at the College of the Atlantic.
Porter, a retired professor of plant biology (University of Georgia), will speak at 11 a.m. about “Fungi in the Ocean.” Havsall will speak after lunch at 1 p.m. about “Polypore Fungi of Maine.”
Havsall, former director of the Dorr Museum, will share her familiarity with the Polypore fungi of this area.
The day will conclude with a planning session at 2:30 for a fungal bioblitz scheduled for Sept. 11-13.
The fungal bioblitz is a biodiversity inventory sponsored by Acadia National Park.
