BAR HARBOR — Renovation crews are busy inside the Criterion Theater this summer to shore up the look of the historic structure. The theater’s first night open is scheduled for July 12, when the Bar Harbor Music Festival presents the opera “The Marriage of Figaro.”
Owner Erin Early said Tuesday that several other theater and dance performances are scheduled for the season, but no movies will screen this year.
Early said that the theater is for sale and she would love to see someone interested in running it come forward. She said she will only part with the property if the buyer is committed to supporting local theater and arts groups.
