WINTER HARBOR — On Feb. 6, police responded to an accident on Newman Street.
William Tracy, 61, of Franklin was operating a 2016 Chevy Silverado with a utility trailer attached when he was rear-ended by a 2009 Chevy Silverado pickup truck.
Some property damage was reported, but there were no injuries. Road conditions were considered to be a factor in the crash.
Erratic driving reports
On Feb. 5, an off-duty police officer observed a vehicle driving erratically on Route 1 and the South Gouldsboro Road. The officer called for an on-duty Gouldsboro police officer, who stopped the vehicle.
On Feb. 15, police received a report of a Chevy Silverado driving erratically on Route 1. The vehicle traveled over the county line and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department was notified.
Cheer team escort
On Feb. 8, police escorted members of the Sumner High School cheer team to the school following their victory at the state cheerleading championship.
On Feb. 12, police responded to a trespassing complaint on Newman Street. The property owner reported evidence that someone had been staying in a vacant trailer on the property. The incident is under investigation.
Mental health issue
Police assisted the Gouldsboro Police Department on Feb. 12 in responding to a report of an individual making references on social media to committing suicide.
When officers and EMS personnel arrived at the residence, they found an intoxicated man who did not appear suicidal. EMS personnel determined that the man was in no apparent danger of anything other than having a severe headache earlier in the day.
On Feb. 13, Winter Harbor Police and Gouldsboro Police were called to the scene of an unattended death on School Street.
Police conducted a bail check on Feb. 14. The officer warned the individual after a minor violation was found.
