WINTER HARBOR — Police are investigating a report of alleged sexual assault involving a minor.
The case was referred to the Winter Harbor Police Department for investigation on July 20. No further details were available about the case, which is being investigated by Police Chief Danny Mitchell Jr.
Domestic incidents
On July 18, Officer Ken Schuurman assisted at a Gouldsboro incident in which a man allegedly had threatened to kill a woman and her husband.
The man was reported to be armed with a knife and barricaded in a building, but he had gone by the time police at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
On July 24, Jeffrey Lynn of Gouldsboro was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after failing to comply with several warnings following a domestic incident on the Guzzle Road, according to Schuurman.
Theft reported
Mitchell is investigating a reported theft of a Winter Harbor resident’s economic stimulus check and related signature forgery. The complaint was made on Aug. 13.
Outstanding warrant
On Aug. 15, Schuurman arrested Timothy Ciarcia, 26, of Steuben on a warrant after he was stopped for an unrelated matter while driving in Winter Harbor.
Marijuana purchase sought
On July 24, a youth informed police that a man had approached him about buying marijuana joints. The youth told the man he did not do that. The Hancock County District Attorney’s Office has been notified, according to reports.
Traffic stop
On Aug. 6, Officer Eli Brown charged Philip Berezney, 32, of Pennsylvania with operating an unregistered motor vehicle after stopping him for alleged speeding on Newman Street in Winter Harbor.
Campers depart
On Aug. 15, multiple people, who appeared to be camping at the end of Grindstone Avenue, left after being informed it was private property, according to reports.
