Winter Harbor Police: Man arrested on warrant

WINTER HARBOR — Police arrested Eben Moss, 35, of Winter Harbor Jan. 11 on an outstanding warrant from Cumberland County charging failure to appear. The arrest took place at MC’s Marketplace in Birch Harbor and Moss was taken to Hancock County Jail.

Timothy Ciarcia, 26, of Steuben was summonsed on a charge of operating after suspension Jan. 17 following a Newman Street traffic stop. Ciarcia was able to get a licensed driver to take his vehicle.

Assisting youths

Police were called Jan. 14 to a Winter Harbor residence to talk with a youth who did not want to continue attending school. The youth’s parents gave police permission to talk to the student about the importance of school and the student agreed to continue going.

A Jan. 15 call brought police to Main Street for a report of a youth threatening suicide.


Police were called Jan. 14 about a Gouldsboro resident who was posting “abuse counseling” posters at a local business. Police advised her that falsely advertising unlicensed abuse counseling services is a crime and issued a warning. The person said she would stop immediately.
