Winter Harbor Police log week of Sept. 12

WINTER HARBOR — Michael O’Hara, 58, of Winter Harbor was arrested on an active warrant Aug. 30 and taken to Hancock County Jail, according to Winter Harbor police.

During the latter part of August, police visited several residences looking for others with outstanding warrants. Some of the people they were looking for had moved.

On Aug. 31, police attempted to locate four people who had outstanding warrants. One of them was not home when police arrived at his residence. However, the man later turned himself in at Hancock County Jail.

Police discovered two of the people they were looking for had moved to Milbridge. In one case, officers from Gouldsboro and Winter Harbor assisted a Hancock County Sheriff’s deputy in locating the individual.

In another case, police provided the information to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

Police were unable to find a fourth person with an active warrant Aug. 31.

Warrant investigations continued in September when Winter Harbor police and officers from the Gouldsboro and Bangor police departments and the Maine Warden Service began searching for someone with an active warrant.

ATV accident

Police assisted Gouldsboro Police in responding to an all-terrain vehicle accident on Route 1 in Gouldsboro Aug. 28.

One man had minor injuries but refused transportation to the hospital. But, he eventually took first responders’ advice and took himself to the hospital, police said.

Parking tickets

Police issued multiple parking tickets for vehicles parked on Main Street Aug. 27.
