Winter Harbor Police Log Week of June 18

WINTER HARBOR — Police responded to a report of an alleged assault and family fight in progress Friday night.

Officer Ken Schuurman was able to stabilize the situation and later turned the matter over to Maine State Police upon their arrival at the scene, according to police reports.

Lifesaving effort

Late Thursday afternoon, Officer Eli Brown performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator (AED) to try and revive a 61-year-old man.

Schoodic EMS arrived on the scene and administered further treatment but was unable to bring the man back to life.

The call came in as a possible suicide attempt with a firearm, but that was determined not to be the case, according to police reports.

Citizen assist

On Sunday, a local resident inquired how to obtain gun safety locks. Brown provided a few to the caller.
