WINTER HARBOR — Police Chief Danny Mitchell was advised on Jan. 25 of someone sending unsolicited pornographic images via text message to a local girl.
Police are working to identify the suspect.
Traffic stops
During the course of a traffic stop on Jan. 30, Officer Ken Schuurman summoned William Rivera, 41, of Winter Harbor on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Another licensed driver drove the vehicle from the scene.
Officer Adam Brackett on Jan. 26 received a call from the Hancock County Regional Communications Center advising of a vehicle traveling from Route 1 down South Gouldsboro Road at a suspiciously slow rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped in Winter Harbor for an evaluation of the driver.
Schuurman stopped a young driver on Newman Street Jan. 30 for traveling 30 miles per hour over the speed limit.
The youth was turned over to his parents and received a summons for the alleged infraction.
Municipal duties
Officer Philip Sargent posted the special election warrant on Jan. 26 at the town office, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, the Winter Harbor 5 & 10, the town post office and the Winter Harbor Food Service.
